All I have to say is it was nice knowing you Wally. Allow me and pretty much everyone else in Cleveland to help you pack and get your ass on the next flight to D.C.

The NBA said yesterday that it will not fine the Blazers because Pres Larry Miller threatened to sue any team that signs Darius Miles. In a public statement the league said that having Miles contract count against their cap space is punishment enough. Any team that would willingly sign Miles to a $9 Million contract has punished themselves. Any league punishment would just be salt in the wound.

The D-League has granted some team a protest in their loss to some other team because one of the teams players was inadvertently fouled out. The coach from some team could be heard shouting “Do Over! Do Over!” as the game ended.

The Knicks Eddie Curry is being sued for what amounts to being a horrible human being. One of the complaints from the “victim” is that Curry ask him to do “"humiliating tasks outside the scope of his employment, such as cleaning up and removing dirty towels [into which Curry had ejaculated] so that his wife would not see them," the Manhattan federal court suit says” On a side note, it makes feel better about myself. I thought I was the only guy that j*zzed into towels.

Assistant coaches injured after four-floor fall.
Two assistant coaches apparently wrestling with each other fell through a hotel window Tuesday morning and fell four stories to a concrete sidewalk, leaving one in serious condition.

We are still waiting to find out if the two coaches were Mangini and Crenell.

It's about time we do a little more than just mention in passing that the Cavs are having a stellar season thus far. This kind of play warrants an entire post dedicated to them. As of tonight they have the third best record in the NBA bested only by the Celtics and Lakers who have the same number of losses, being five.

Steve Jones of NBCSports.com wrote a great article about the Cavaliers and their chances of winning a title this year. Definitely worth the read if not only for the fact that he mentions how playing with Kobe Bryant in Beijing was a positive experience for LeBron.

Also worth mentioning about the Cavs this season is their ridiculous home record of 16-0. To think that since the 2005-06 season they are 104-35 at home is unbelievable. That's a .748 winning percentage which virtually guarantees that if you attend home games in a sporadic fashion you're gonna see a Cavs victory. Not bad at all considering the Browns home winning percentage is a disgusting .438. Way to go Brownies!

Well the Cavs have gotten off to a great start. Nothing like opening a season the same way you ended the last. Apparently the team got their fourth quarter "Face Plant Offense" from the Cavs Scream Team.

Luckily, we get the Bobcats tonight. By the way, Kudos to the Bobcats for hiring Larry Brown. Anybody that gets fired in favor of Isaiah Thomas has to be good.

P.S. It sounds like there's going to be an open position on the Scream Team now.

The Cavs just announced they have signed E.T. to a multi-year deal. No word yet on how many Reese's Pieces he will demand per year.

The Cavs made huge deal this week bringing in Mo Williams from the Bucks. What I was impressed with in this trade was what the Cavs gave up to get him. Nothing. While I was more than happy with the role that Joe Smith played in the few months he was with the team, he is aging and expendable. The Cavs will also lose a streaky a streaky shooter in Damon Jones. I prefer not to think of it as losing a streaky shooter but gaining a NBA level talent. Let’s face it, Jones is D-league at best. You have all seen the stats, 17.2 and 6.3 a game. Even more importantly his assist to turnover ratio is roughly 3 to 1, an area that Delonte West struggled with. Speaking of West, that’s what I love about this trade. I am a Delonte West and believe he was a great addition to the team. However, with the addition of Williams, the Cavs now a have a quality two guard rotation. Not too mention, if West should decide to chase the money and head over seas, the Cavs have protected themselves.

I admit it. We dropped the ball by not giving our analysis for the Cleveland Cavaliers draft pick sooner than this. But without further ado, let us help introduce J.J. Hickson.
Hickson is a 6'9" Power Forward out of N.C. State where he played just one year but quickly emerged as their leader. This past season he averaged 14.8 PPG with 8.5 RPG and 1.5 BPG. Not bad, not stellar, but steady. Everything I've read on Hickson say's that he plays well with his back to the basket, and that's where he'll get most of his work done. To be honest, I wasn't thrilled with this pick when it came around. But the more I've thought about it, it's looking like a solid pick. The Cavs absolutely needed to get younger down low with most of the big guys being over 30, excluding Varejao. Hickson will give us youth and athleticism at a position that was burned in the playoffs.
The big "Wow" note being attached to Hickson is that in his first game with N.C. State, he scored 31 points on 12-12 shooting from the floor. I feel it's only fair to point out that this was done against William & Mary, which I'm fairly certain is an all girls college.
With all the talk about Hickson, many have forgotten that we also obtained the draft rights to Darnell Jackson by giving the Miami Heat one of our second-round picks in next years draft. Also acquired was Sasha Kaun who will probably fill Lance Allred's position as the big-tall-white guy who sits at the end of the bench, so we're not gonna talk about him.
Jackson, like Kaun, played for the Kansas Jayhawks for four years. His senior year saw him average 11.2 PPG with 6.7 RPG. Jackson should provide the Cavaliers with a polished role-player to come off the bench. I'm not gonna lie to you...I don't know s--- about Jackson. I didn't really follow the Big 12 this year, or any of the other year's he played there. But I'm sure the Cavs know what they were doing. It's not like they've made any major draft mistakes in the past few years...

While everyone is talking about the magnificent game 6 by the Celtics, and their championship run, I figured we would start the talk about how Kobe has destroyed basketball in the city of Los Angeles, for as long as he plays there. But first, let’s listen in on a conversation had between Mitch Kupchak and Kobe Bryant this morning.

Mamba: I mean, you need to get me some help out there. Someone that will put fear into the hearts of opponents. I need an enforcer down in the paint. Boston has an enforcer, and look what they just won. Get me an enforcer!
Kupchak: I see where you’re going here. You’re talking about a giant of a man with a bunch of tattoos. All he does is dunk, rebound, and push people out of his way. Maybe he calls himself “Diesel” or something to that effect.
Mamba: That’s what I’m talking about. You know someone in the NBA like that?
Kupchak: Yea, you ran him out of town four years ago. You ruined this franchise and your career. Have a nice day.

Well, maybe that conversation didn’t happen. But you know what, it’s probably not that far off. Kobe said he could do it on his own, that he didn’t need a big man, and that he could run the show. Now here we are, a few years later and Kobe’s back in the Finals. But don’t kid yourself, he did this with a big man. Pau Gasol is listed at 7 feet tall, just an inch shorter than Shaq. Don’t get me wrong, I am in no way comparing Pau-derpuff Gasol to the Diesel. But in the end, Kobe needed that big man, but he wanted a big man on his terms. One that he could intimidate. No way Shaq is letting Kobe get away with those looks he gave Gasol. Kobe would have been swinging from the backboard by his underwear in atomic wedgie fashion.
So, where does Kobe go from here? Going into the playoffs, he was said to have the most complete team. But over the course of these playoffs, you saw him abandon the team aspect, and more importantly the triangle offense. And for the Phil Jackson coached Lakers, that means certain failure. If you’re Mitch Kupchak, you woke up today with a sinking feeling that back in 2004, maybe the wrong decision was made.

Kobe Bryant makes me want to have an oral bowl movement. I guess I should be fair, it's not Kobe's fault. It's the fault of the press. Let's forget that he's a rapist. Yes, I believe he raped her. Twice in fact. Once in the hotel room and once when he paid her off. But I digress. As this NBA season was getting rolling, Kobe was once again the most hated individual in the league. Why? He basically said his entire team wasn't fit to play in the Horizon League, let alone the NBA. He demanded a trade. He then followed up with his single best performance of the year, an attention whore like 180 only days later. People, the guy is a top notch A-hole. An A-hole of Barry Bonds like proportion. When it was announced that he won the MVP, everyone went battered woman on us. "The MVP couldn't possible be an A-hole!" For the last 3 weeks i have had to listen to Mike and Mike (whom I rather enjoy), Collin Cowherd, Shemon and others talk about what a great guy Kobe is. He is so much more mature now than he was at the beginning of the season. Pardon Me? It's been what 9 months tops? He is more mature? Next you’re going to tell me Hitler was just misunderstood. Maybe I am wrong. In fact, in an effort to show mature he is, he whored his kids out to press during a press conference. That is one of my personal favorite moves by an athlete by the way. "Oh he is so down to earth". If that's how you want to look at it, so be it. I on the other hand am going to call a spade a spade.
